Cisco Systems continued to dominate the hyper-converged infrastructure market in the first quarter, according to market research firm The NPD Group, but its closest competition, Nutanix, closed the gap, shipping nearly as many units through the channel as Cisco. According to The NPD Group, Cisco shipped 1,533 hyper-converged systems through the channel during the quarter, far outpacing its main legacy IT hardware rivals, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Dell EMC.
